Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Jinseok Oh ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Revv (the "App"), an AI-powered study optimization application. We are committed to protecting your personal and study data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive:

  • Your name (if you choose to share it)
  • Your email address (or Apple's private relay email)
  • A unique user identifier

Study Data

To provide personalized study features, we collect:

  • Decks, flashcards, and card content you create
  • Review history and performance ratings
  • Study session records (duration, accuracy, time slots)
  • FSRS spaced repetition parameters

PDF Content

When you use the AI question generation feature:

  • Text extracted from your PDF is sent to our AI service for question generation
  • PDF text is processed in real-time and not stored on our servers after generation
  • Page images may be sent for visual context but are not retained

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers (Supabase, hosted on AWS) to enable AI analysis and cross-device sync. We implement the following security measures:

  • All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Authentication tokens are securely stored in iOS Keychain
  • Database access is restricted with row-level security policies
  • Study data is associated with your account and not shared with other users

How We Use Your Information

  • To generate AI-powered flashcard questions from your PDFs
  • To schedule optimal review times using FSRS spaced repetition algorithms
  • To provide personalized study insights and performance analytics
  • To predict memory retention and recommend study sessions
  • To sync your study data across sessions
  • To manage your account and subscription

AI Data Processing

Revv uses AI services (Anthropic Claude) to generate study questions. When using AI features:

  • PDF text is sent to Anthropic's API for question generation
  • Generated questions are verified for accuracy via a second AI pass
  • We do not use your data to train third-party AI models
  • Anthropic does not retain your data after processing

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data in these circumstances:

  • With AI services (Anthropic) for question generation — only the PDF text necessary for processing
  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect the safety and rights of users or the public

We never sell, rent, or share your study data with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: View all your study data within the app
  • Export: Export your flashcards as CSV from any deck
  • Delete Account: Request account and data deletion via email
  • Offline Mode: Use the app without syncing to our servers

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, all personal data, study records, flashcards, and review history are permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Revv is designed for users aged 4 and older. For users under 13, parental consent is required. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
